“One Paw at a Time”

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

MACKENZIE’S.png

Meet Mackenzi – a 16-year-old student at Naparima College, San Fernando, with a heart full of compassion and a dream of making a difference. While many his age are still figuring things out, Mackenzi already knows what he’s passionate about: giving back to his community and caring for animals in need.

Our Story

Alongside his mother, Natasha Mohammed, Mackenzi helps run a remarkable rescue effort that began over 20 years ago. Natasha’s love for animals started in her own childhood when her family—despite facing financial struggles—never hesitated to help strays. That same legacy lives on today through Mackenzi.

The Felicity Shelter, purpose-built more than 8 years ago, now houses 38 dogs in a spacious, remote area ideal for animal rehabilitation. Their home in Chaguanas is also a sanctuary, caring for 10 dogs and 22 cats. Every single morning, without fail, they also feed over 70 stray animals in the surrounding area.

What’s truly inspiring? Every bit of this has been funded by their own pockets. No grants, no large donors—just pure dedication and love.

At NourishTT, we were moved by their story and knew we had to support. While donor support for our initiatives has seen a decline in recent years, we continue to press on. But today, we’re asking you to help us help them.

Donate to Mackenzi’s cause and join us in making a difference—one paw at a time.
